A very refreshing summer cooler.

To be honest, I took a few liberties with this cocktail to just scale down the size, but I kept the ratios intact. This cocktail was created by Connery Carson of Pensacola Florida. Here’s his email to us below:
Hello,

My name is Connery. I’m from Pensacola, FL and enjoy almost all things spirits-related. It’s not often that I try to invent a cocktail on my own, as I usually take my ques from professionals like yourself. However, one drunken afternoon, on a hot spring day, I stumbled upon one that isn’t all bad.

A friend brought me an enormous fresh watermelon, and after days of trying to consume as much of it as possible, I realized I had to juice the remainder. Naturally, the next step was to add liquor, and I soon discovered what I lovingly refer to as the Caractacus Potts (named for the old film, “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang“).

Finishing it with seltzer makes this drink more approachable, which is important because I find that this is a very nice early-in-the-day sipper. It’s also very representative of springtime around these parts with it’s beautiful pink color and gin-botanical character. I have left the ingredients proportions somewhat ambiguous because, frankly, folks might not like it as strong as I make them. If you like, feel free to try it out.
