Basically this is Cade Solivan‘s riff on another Fernet-forward cocktail, the Alligator, with added rum and pineapple juice and a general boost to flavor. Pleasant to look at, and even more pleasant to drink. It’s especially hard to get Fernet here in Iowa, so this is one of my special occasion treats here at the home bar.
Ingredients
- 1 oz. aged Jamaican rum
- 1 oz. Fernet Branca
- 3/4 oz. cinnamon syrup
- 3/4 oz. Lime Juice
- 1 oz. pineapple juice
Instructions
- Shake all ingredients with ice
- Double strain into chilled coupe
- Garnish with dehydrated lime wheel and a miniature orchid(if available)
